Understanding snowboard sizing is a lot more important and in depth than you first think, here boarderettes helps make it that bit easier. There are several factors affecting the size of board you should pick but the most important (and properly most obvious) is picking a snowboard that is proportional to your height. When your first starting out this is quite straight forward, when you stand a board on its tail, it should come roughly to your chin.
Its important to understand that everyone is different and unique and each board is the same. There are only guidelines to getting the right board for you, but to make it easier manufacturers do make boards for all different stages. Once starting out you will be advised towards a beginners freeride board, which will see through from your first day up until your confidently tackling blue/red runs and starting to really get a feel for the sport.
